7 boys were chosen to represent Moat Farm Junior School in a football tournament held at the West Bromwich Albion Dome. In total 24 schools were present at the event and the schools were split into 4 groups.

In the opening game Moat Farm found themselves a goal down (the only goal we would concede in the entire tournament) until the last 5 seconds. At this point Jack popped up to score an equaliser. This gave the team momentum and we went on to win our next 4 games, with goals being scored by Daniel, Dontaei and Mitchell in the process. Solid defensive performances from Jack, Anoop and Zach also heavily contributed to ensure top spot in the group.

The quarter final was a 2-0 win over Abbey Junior School. For large parts of the match, Moat Farm were under pressure, but three brilliant saves from Alfie kept Abbey Junior out and then we benefitted with an own goal and a strike from Daniel!

The semi-final was tight and ended 0-0. The game was decided on penalties. Dontaei, Jack and Daniel held their nerve to all score penalties giving us a 3-2 victory from the spot and a place in the final.

The final against George Betts was another tight game and again finished 0-0. This time, 3 minutes of extra time were played, and in this period Daniel managed to score a goal to give us a 1-0 win and victory in the tournament as a whole.

All of the boys were outstanding on the day, not only on the football pitch were they showed great skill and teamwork, but also they demonstrated sportsmanship and respect to opponents and staff. Well done you were all a credit to Moat Farm Junior School!
